The NISSAT sponsored a project to DESIDOC for
developing programmes on UNESCO’s CDS/ISIS for enabling a library
to do acquisition, circulation, etc. DESIDOC has successfully
developed the programmes and a new package based on CDS/ISIS V2.3
was released in 1992 by the name of SANJAY. Using SANJAY a user can
get instant access to information, responses to queries and reports
from multiple databases. It is an interactive, menu driven, and
user-friendly package which carries out routine functions of a
library. The software is capable of inter-relating two or more
databases for a single application like acquisition or circulation.
The software is totally menu driven and works in windows environment
with LAN support. In India, NISSAT is the marketing agent of this
software it is available to government libraries in India.
