NATIONAL LIBRARY OF INDIA
The National Library of India is situated in Kolkata was established in 1836 as Calcutta Public Library. In 1903 the Library was opened for public by Lord Curzon. After the independence of the country, in 1948 the Government of India passed an Act and changed its name as National Library of India. On 1st February 1953 the library was formally inaugurated by then Education Minister Moulana Abul Kalam Azad.

DELHI PUBLIC LIBRARY
Delhi Public Library is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of
Culture and governed by Delhi Library Board. Delhi Public Library was started as a UNESCO
project in the year 1951 by the Government of India. It was inaugurated by
then Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.It is a premier Public Library System in Delhi.

CONNEMARA PUBLIC LIBRARY
Connemara
Public Library Established in 1896. It is one of the four National
Depository Libraries in India. It serves as a depository library for
the United Nations also. The library has a vast collection of books,
periodicals, reference sources,video collection, and Braille
Library. The library is Egmore, in the capital city of southern state
of Tamilnadu.

ASIATIC SOCIETY LIBRARY
Asiatic Society
Library, Mumbai, situated at Horniman Circle enriched with books and
periodicals, ancient manuscripts, painted folios, coins, artifacts,
maps and prints which depicts the culture of the continent. The
society has its tradition from 19th century during colonial
period. It grown in to a treasure of knowledge in Indology and now it
is one of the four depository libraries in the country.

KERALA STATE CENTRAL LIBRARY
The Kerala State Central Library (Trivandrum
public Library) is one of the oldest libraries in the country
established in the year 1829. The library is situated in the heart of
Thiruvananthapuram city on the side of NH 66 at Palayam. The library
has a collection of more than 3 lakhs books, hundreds of periodicals
and magazines, news papers, government gussets,etc. It has a digital
collection in searchable format of 709 books, in English and
Malayalam. Apart form this a separate collection of Children's'
collection and British Library collection has housed here. Now SCL is a minor department of Government of Kerala.

KHUDA BAKSHA ORIENTAL PUBLIC LIBRARY
Khuda
Bakhsh Oriental Public Library is
located in Patna, Bihar. The library has a
unique repository of about 21,000 Oriental manuscripts and 2,50,000
printed books. It
was opened for public on
5th
October 1891 by
Khuda Baksh.The Government of India declared the Library as an Institution of
National Importance by an act of Parliament in 1969. The Library is
now fully funded by the Ministry of Culture.
